It’s no secret that I love a good arts and crafts project. My kids and I love to create different things. If you’re looking for a way to gift or display your cherished Disney mementos, then I have some great ideas for you! These are even a fun way to include children as most of the ideas can be done by them with a little help from you.

Whether you’re wanting to create the perfect one of a kind gift for the Disney fans in your life or find a way to upcycle old park maps and photos, I’ve got you covered. Many of my beloved Disney memorabilia just sits in a bin in my closet. I figured what a better time than the Christmas season to repurpose them!

These DIYs will make great gift ideas, ornaments and keepsakes that you and your loved ones will be able to enjoy for years to come. Many of my supplies came from my local craft store, but you can easily find these items on Amazon and I will provide links to everything I used. Some of these items you may already have on hand!

So let’s get things started off strong, with a classic for keepsake idea number one.

DIY Mickey Head Ornament:

I just love how easy this little keepsake was! My five year old loved helping with this. All you’re going to need is Mod-Podge, a sponge craft brush, clear ornament blank, circular crafting lollypop heads and a picture or park map. You will also need a glue of choice. I used my hot glue gun for attaching the lollypop ears and it worked perfectly! (Please assist your children with this part as the glue gets extremely hot and is not safe for young hands!) You can also add some Holiday ribbon through the loop to spruce it up and for hanging on your Christmas tree! These would make great gifts as well!

To make: Simply apply a thin layer of mod-podge on the surface or back (depending on your preference) and add your photo, ticket stub or park map of choice. Once dry, trim excess closely around the shape of the ornament and hot glue the lollypops on either side to make Mickey ears. Add any finishing touches such as ribbon, glitter or even customize with a date!

DIY Snowy Ornament:

This is another cute ornament idea. For this one, you will need more of a rounded/dimensional ornament blank, photo or other memorabilia and some fake crafting snow. This is another family friendly craft that kids can partake in!

To make: You will need to cut your item into a size appropriate strip (I made my width a smidge smaller than the ornament measures). Roll it up around a pencil and then insert into the ornament blank. Add some fake crafting snow or confetti. Replace ornament lid and add ribbon. If you don’t have a picture to place inside, you could just put the craft snow in and then on the outside add a Mickey sticker or vinyl, or even write the date of your trip!

DIY Frame:

Let’s keep this list rolling with our next idea. This DIY frame would make a great gift for a loved one to display all year long. You could keep it simple and just put a picture in it and be done but if you really want to spruce it up, I think that personalizing it with stickers or your Cricut machine would really make it stand out. You could also add a little flare with these super cute mini bows!

Speaking of Cricut machines, have I told you how much I love mine? I can make so many cool, one of a kind creations with it! For those who don’t know, Cricut is a cutting machine that can cut many different materials to add to t-shirts, water bottles, unique stickers and more. I love this particular one. If you really want to get your foot wet but are not ready to commit to the hefty price, try this model. DIY Mickey/Minnie Wreath:

Here’s another super easy idea that the whole family can be involved in! For this Mickey wreath you’ll need a couple of different sizes to make up Mickey’s face and ears. For the other supplies, you’ll need some festive ribbon (to hang and for Minnie’s bow) as well as a hot glue gun and glue (parents, again, please assist children or do this part yourself to avoid burns). You can also use garland pieces, holly berries or craft poinsettia to add a special touch.

How to: Once you’ve selected the right wreath sizes, you’ll want to line up the smallest wreaths on top of the larger one and place where you want them. Carefully use the hot glue gun to secure the smaller (ear) wreath pieces to the larger one. This will take a few minutes to ensure you have it glued on well and to dry and cool down. Then, you’ll want to make a bow for the Minnie version and attach with the hot glue. Add a ribbon loop for hanging and you’re all set. Or you can continue to add any flourishment you want until your masterpiece is finished! My son and I loved creating the smaller wreaths to display in our house for the Christmas season!

DIY Disney Sweatshirt:

If you’ve seen the Stoney Clover x Disney collaboration, you’ll know that those items are popular and trendy but can definitely set you back a pretty penny! Here’s my money saving alternative that would make for an awesome Christmas gift! For this project, you’ll need a blank sweatshirt. I really like this one from Gildean! You’ll also need a super cute patch that looks like Stoney Clover but is a cost effective dupe. I got this one from Etsy and I love it and have received so many compliments! I used my Cricut heat press for my heat source but you can also use an iron.

To Make: First you need to figure out your patch placement on the sweatshirt. Once you have decided where to put it, you’re going to want to heat that area for a few seconds. Then apply the patch and add heat following the seller’s directions for time and temperature. I like to turn the garment inside out and apply heat from the inside as well. Then I do a press on the outside one last time. This patch has proven to be great quality!

DIY Mickey Hot Cocoa Mug:

As you know by now, I love crafting with my Cricut machine. This craft/cutting machine really helps spark my creativity so of course I had to include a Cricut craft in this post. I love these SVGs as ideas to complete this craft. This is my Cricut machine that I own and this is the vinyl, mat, and transfer sheets I used. I think this mug would be perfect to spruce up with your Cricut cutting machine!

If you don’t own a cricut, there are lots of htv designs you can buy premade that you’ll simply peel and stick onto the mug. Here’s a few of my top picks: Christmas design, Disney snacks and Minnie Ears and bows design.

How to: Simply download design, cut, weed and apply to the mug. Then if you’re really wanting to make this gift over the top, you could add a packet of hot coca, some marshmallows and a small wooden stirrer. For DIY DTF designs, follow directions enclosed with purchase. Wrap in a small clear bag, add some ribbon and a name tag and voila- a wonderful heartfelt gift that will warm the soul!

DIY Character Snow Globe:

For this easy DIY I’m doing a snow globe. I think that this makes for an awesome choice for adults and kids alike! For the supplies, you’re going to need a small character or figurine of your choice. This could be a small item you got from the parks or here’s some ideas of ones you can easily get online. You’ll need these small snow globe craft blanks, as well as some craft snow.

To Make: Once you have your character picked out, simply glue it onto the base of the snow globe. Then add some craft snow or confetti to the inner globe and attach the bottom/character base to the top globe and there you have it!

DIY Park Map Bookmark:

For my last project, this bookmark idea is seriously so awesome. This is a really fun way to enjoy a little bit of Disney every time you crack open a book. If you have any book lovers in your life, they’ll definitely appreciate this one. For this simple diy all you’ll need is a book mark blank, ribbon, mod podge, sponge brush and a park map.

To make: pull the protective backing off of the bookmark blank. Then apply an even layer of mod podge and apply your map. (be sure to apply this in the right direction) Once dry cut all excess paper and add your ribbon. Super easy and fun!

There are so many fun ways to spark creativity and make something one of a kind. I’ve had so much fun making these with my kids! Whether you’re wanting to create a gift for the Disney lover in your life or maybe you just need some fun ideas to keep your kiddos busy during the Holiday season. These are sure to be a great way to spread Holiday cheer and make the season bright!

If you need more Christmas decor ideas or Ornaments for your tree, I’ve got you covered there too!
