You never know what the weather will do when at Disney World. Being out in the sweltering heat all day and usually some rain and lots of humidity can do a number on a girl’s makeup and sunscreen. But I wanted to let you know about my tried and true makeup products for a day in the parks!
This makeup will work whether you like a minimal look or full coverage. These products are my go tos and some of them are drugstore brands which will save you some major money! I used to work in cosmetics and skincare and am very particular about what I put on my face as well as spf protection. I’ve tried many different products throughout the years but these all stars are the makeup mvps!
Face:
My first product is by bareMinerals. Now I know this product has been around for a long time and there’s a really good reason for that- It works so well! This product’s coverage easily ranges from sheer to full and camouflages the most stubborn blemishes and discoloration. I use mine with an IT Cosmetics brush because for me that seems to work the best. I simply buff this powder all over my face in circular motions. And as an added bonus? This product already has SPF in it. I literally apply this in the morning (all over my face- eyes and lips too), go the the parks all day and by nighttime I’m still covered. I’ve never had a sunburn with this makeup. It may be an oldie but it’s a goodie for sure!
I recently tried the e.l.f Halo Glow Skin Tint and while for me personally it left something to be desired ( I’m not crazy about the shade I tried or that it can magnify certain textures), I think that this could be a great cost affective alternative. It gives minimal tint coverage but it features mineral broad spectrum SPF of 50. I think that if you set this with some powder, it would really help it stay put longer in the heat making it a great choice if you want a less coverage look on a budget!
Or maybe you really don’t care for a makeup coverage and really just want the sun protection plus a little glow? Then the Supergoop! Glow Screen is my top pick! While this sunscreen somehow minimizes and blurs imperfections, it also gives a nice glow without the coverage of a makeup or tint. You’ll get a lit from within look that doesn’t scream disco ball. It boasts an SPF 40 and if you’re very fair or burn easily, you could layer this under the bareMinerals for even extra protection!
Lips:
Some people really want the ease of a quick lip gloss that can be applied easily throughout the day as needed. For them, I would definitely go with the Supergoop! Glow Lip Balm. This product excludes over 1600 harmful ingredients and will provide sun protection while you’re out in the hot Florida Sun.
If you like more of an actual lipstick/color, Maybelline Colorstay lipstick works wonders. While it doesn’t have SPF in it, it is very long wearing. Plus there are tons of shades to choose from. It’s transfer proof and you can’t beat the price! You could by six of these for the price of one prestige branded lipstick. Bonus, no need for lipliner with this because this lipstick is going to stay put for a while!
Eyes:
While I don’t usually wear eyeshadow to the parks, I do really enjoy wearing mascara. However, if your and eyeshadow type of person, I would recommend this one. It comes in several shades, is easy to apply and is a drugstore favorite that will last throughout the day! As for my favorite mascara, I love Panorama by L’oreal. It coats each lash but doesn’t clump and it stays put all day without smudging or running. You can opt for the waterproof version if you’re going to be riding lots of water rides.
Speaking of eyes, the best way to perfect your eyelashes is to curl them before you apply mascara. This is my go to eyelash curler. I have the red Mickey one and it is by far the best curler I’ve ever used! You may not think that brand makes a difference for something this simple (I didn’t either) but trust me, once you try this one, you’ll be hooked. It gives a beautiful curl shape that holds.
For eyebrows I have found that Maybelline works just as well as some of the more expensive brands. I love both their pencil and gel. These both give the illusion of fuller brows.
Setting Sprays:
Of course even the best makeup will still have a small tendency to run or melt while sweating in the sun all day. The most fool proof way to ensure you get the most out of your makeup is to finish your look with a setting spray. The Urban Decay All Nighter is a longtime cult favorite and the e.l.f Power Grip is a more cost effective alternative. Another very popular option is ONE/SIZE. This one even comes in a glitter option which I think is super fun for a day of magic at Disney.
There you have it! My tried and true makeup favorites for a day in the Florida sun. I hope that this shows you that you don’t have to break the bank to look glam (or natural!) while at Disney. There are so many awesome options but these are my go tos and they work fabulously to protect me from the sun as well!
